WNTR Sauna
In winter, you can enjoy the warmth of Rovaniemi's best sauna and refresh yourself in the cold waters of the Kemijoki River! The legendary Summer Restaurant & Sauna has expanded its operations in winter to become WNTR Sauna, offering a cozy lounge for both local residents and visitors traveling to the north.
The sauna is located next to the Ounasvaara ski resort by the banks of the Kemijoki River, just a five-minute drive from Rovaniemi city center. The restaurant and sauna can be found in the grounds of Lapland Hotels Ounasvaara Chalets by the river.
The warmth of the sauna and the coolness of the river – experiences on the banks of the Kemijoki River continue at WNTR Sauna from September.
Head to Rovaniemi’s best sauna and take a dip in the cool waters of the Kemijoki River! WNTR Sauna is Rovaniemi’s living room for locals and visitors looking to enjoy the atmosphere of the north.
At the heart of WNTR Sauna is a large wood-fired sauna, which has earned its reputation as the best sauna in Rovaniemi! The sauna accommodates up to 24 people at a time. After your sauna, you can cool off in the Kemijoki River – from the jetty in autumn and through an ice hole in winter. You can also relax by the fire, and food and drinks are available to purchase and enjoy in the sauna lounge.
The sauna is unisex, and swimwear must be worn. Separate changing rooms and showers are available for women and men.
Please bring swimwear as well as a towel, even if you are not planning to swim. Swimwear is also available to rent.

11.9.–31.10.2026 WNTR Sauna is open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays:

1.11.–30.11.2026 WNTR Sauna is open from Wednesday to Sunday:
Opening hours: 15–21.45

Sauna admission: €19 per adult. Children aged 4–12 receive a 50% discount. The price is valid until 31.10.2026.
Autumn Sauna Pass: €75 (valid until 16.11.2026), available for purchase on-site.
Campfire and reindeer goulash soup
Food and drinks are available for purchase to enjoy in the sauna's lounge area or at the campfire. Warm reindeer goulash soup is offered, along with reindeer sausage or glögi-spiced marshmallows that can be roasted at the campfire. The restaurant container, campfire area, and sauna have a liquor license, so bringing your own food is not allowed on the premises.
