Savurafla is open only during summer. In the summer of 2026, the restaurant is open from 12.6.–15.8., on Fridays and Saturdays at 16.30 and 19.
The summer in Rovaniemi smells like smoke and BBQ delicacies. The popular Savurafla is located in Rovaniemi's Kotisaari, in an old boathouse, and the island can only be reached by boating along the scenic Kemijoki. The riverboat transport is included in the dining price.
Seatings and arrival

On seating days, we also serve at the number +358 40 676 2884 from 15 to 20.
Seatings are limited in number and access to the island is by boat from Nätynginnokan matonpesupaikka 15 minutes before the seating starts. The menu price includes boat transportation to Kotisaari and back. It is also possible to arrive by your own boat.
Honor BBQ Traditions
Savurafla on Kotisaari has a real smoke oven, which crowns the smokery concept. All protein is smoked on-site. The restaurant honors BBQ traditions and the seating consists of authentic dishes. Although expertly prepared meats play a major role here, a vegan menu is also possible and enchants with its smoky flavor. Special diets and allergies are kindly taken into account, as long as they are mentioned at the time of booking.
Menu
Three changing mouthwatering meats grilled on the BBQ grill, for example, beef brisket, chicken, flame-grilled rainbow trout. Additionally, there is local whole corn with hot honey and jalapeno available.
As a side dish, for example, summer potatoes with hot sauce and BBQ sauce, coleslaw, chili-pineapple-mango salsa, pickled cabbage and Korean cucumber, mac & cheese.
Sauces include Alabama, BBQ, and chimichurri.
For dessert, cheesecake and caramelized apple, marshmallows, and open-fire coffee.

The prices include riverboat transport. Drinks are ordered and charged on-site. We only accept card payments. Lapland Hotels gift cards are not accepted as a means of payment.
Restaurant in the old boat shed at Kotisaari
In the spirit of the timber floating era, the island is surrounded by greenery, free from asphalt or air conditioning. The restaurant honors the island's history as a base for loggers, and this history lives on in the island's old buildings.
