A MAGICAL ICE EXHIBITON AND ICE BAR
Nearly 200 km above the Arctic Circle lies a unique and magical world made from ice and snow. Each year, around 20 million kilos of snow and 350 000 kilos of crystal clear natural ice are used to build the spectacular Lapland Hotels SnowVillage which changes in shape, size and design to amaze visitors year after year. The SnowVillage includes, for instance, ice sculptures, decorated snow suites, an ice restaurant and an ice bar.
In the winter of 2023–2024, Lapland Hotels SnowVillage guides its visitors into the world of Nordic mythology. Guests can admire, for example, the legendary Mjölnir hammer of Thor, Alfheim, the land of the elves, and, of course, the famous tales of Kalevala, from the Defence of the Sampo to Väinämöinen. Stroll along enchanting snowy corridors, marvel at the ice art, slide down the ice slides, and enjoy a drink from an ice glass in the unique ice bar. The Ice Bar is now styled according to Valhalla, which is the residence of gods and especially the destiny of warriors and heroes. The Ice Bar also features Odin’s throne and a bar counter made of ice that is used for serving drinks.
Lapland Hotels SnowVillage is located in the Western part of Finnish Lapland, in close proximity of Ylläs and Levi ski-resorts and easily reachable from the airport of Kittilä. There are regular tours by car or snowmobile from the resorts of Levi and Ylläs to the SnowVillage.
