This year, the guests of Santa Claus Office and Santa Claus himself wish for a gift of peace on earth

Press release | Fri Dec 22 08:30:00 2023

Santa Claus Office, located in the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi, Finland, is full of hustle and bustle, as December seems to break the all-time visitor record. The previous record was set in December 2019, when more than 129,000 people from all over the world visited Santa Claus.

Santa Claus Office Head Elf Minttu Kariniemi-Aula says that one of the reasons for the visitor record is the direct scheduled flights to Lapland this winter, which there are more of than in previous years.

– Better flight connections will certainly have an impact, as about 95% of our visitors come from outside Finland. Many customers have also told that Lapland and Rovaniemi are a so-called bucket list destination for them, which must be experienced at least once in a lifetime.

For many, meeting Santa Claus is the expected highlight of their trip. Santa listens to wishes, one of which rises above the others this year: world peace. In addition to this, visitors have wished for health, time together and, of course, popular toys.

Santa Claus, who spoke at the Christmas opening event in Rovaniemi in November, reminds us of the importance of kindness before Christmas and shares the wishes for peace expressed by the visitors of Santa Claus Office.

“Paying attention to other people is a good start, but at Christmas it is especially important to be kind to yourself as well. In addition to good deeds, the Christmas spirit is pure happiness, enjoying the most wonderful moments of the year just the way you like it,” Santa said in his speech.
