The best oat porridge in the world can now also be enjoyed in Lapland
Press release | Mon Mar 11 09:13:00 2024
Lapland Hotels' legendary morning porridge is now available at Finland's largest private hotel chain from Kilpisjärvi to Helsinki. The oat porridge, which requires a long stewing time, has previously charmed visitors to city hotels with its velvety taste, and has now been enthusiastically welcomed at Lapland's destinations.
Lapland Hotels' Development Manager Riikka Tenhunen confirms that the highly popular oat porridge is now served in all hotels of the hotel chain as the absolute king of breakfast.
– Yes, our charming porridge is now available to all our customers – all the way to the most remote locations in Lapland. Many of our customers have been asking about the praised porridge for a long time, so this has clearly been anticipated. Feedback has only been positive.
The secret of the porridge that is cooked in the oven lies in the long preparation time, and many people want to come and enjoy the finished product. Made from whole oat grains, the porridge is slowly stewed for a total of four hours. It is a hearty, velvety smooth meal enriched with whole milk, butter and a pinch of salt.
– No compromise on these. On top of the finished porridge, you can put blueberries or, for example, a small pat of butter, Tenhunen suggests.
The famous porridge was not born by chance; it is a result of precise development work. The hotel chain has always been ambitious about food. When the Bulevardi hotel of the chain was opened in Helsinki, the goal was to develop a really good oat porridge. The recipe was tested for weeks with different amounts of salt or butter before the perfect recipe was born.
The oat grains and recipe needed to make the legendary breakfast delicacy can be purchased directly at breakfast or at the reception of Lapland Hotels. The porridge bags contain the oat grains needed for two servings, and one bag costs six euros.
