Press release | Mon 07 Nov 2022 09:38:00 AM EET
The largest private hotel chain in Finland, Lapland Hotels Oy, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Finnish Ski Association. In winter 2023, the hotel chain will serve as the Finnish Ski Association and the Finnish National Cross-Country Team’s official cooperation and accommodation partner.
Due to this cooperation, the Finnish National Cross-Country Team will arrange its first snow camp at Lapland Hotels Olos, in Muonio. Lapland Hotels aims to support the development of Finnish cross-country skiing and offer training opportunities for the national team.
– “Skiing and Lapland are almost synonyms, so it is only natural that our cooperation sport is skiing. Olos with its great skiing areas and our top-class hotel offer the national team optimal first snow conditions to prepare themselves for the World Ski Championships in the spring. The Finnish Ski Association and our national team provide Olos visibility as an excellent cross-country skiing destination,” says Ari Vuorentausta, the CEO of Lapland Hotels.
As a result of this newly launched cooperation, Lapland Hotels will also start to arrange ski schools for its customers. The ski schools will be led by several famous skiers.
Top-quality accommodation for the Finnish National Championships to be held in Tampere
According to the Finnish Ski Association, Lapland Hotels is a high-quality partner which clarifies the Association’s operations in Olos as well as, for example, in Tampere where the Finnish National Championships will be held in January 2023.
“Next winter, one of our key locations will be Tampere. Lapland Hotels offers such superior accommodation for the Finnish National Championships that the athletes and those working in the background can concentrate on what is essential, in other words, building their sporting success,” says Jari-Pekka Jouppi, Commercial Director of the Finnish Ski Association.
The official cooperation between Lapland Hotels and the Finnish Ski Association will continue for the duration of this season until the spring of 2023. The company has also signed partner agreements with the Finnish Ski Association in the previous years and cooperated with selected Finnish top skiers during ski camps arranged in Olos.
