AFTER THE COVID-19 ORDEAL

Our financial year 2021–2022 was successful in many respects: our turnover returned to growth and, in many of our businesses, we even achieved the best turnover ever. We would like to thank in particular our staff for this season: they persevered through the difficult and uncertain times.

NORTHERN EXPERIENCES FOR ALL SENSES

Travel enterprise Lapland Hotels & Safaris consists of Finland’s largest private hotel chain, Lapland Hotels, the largest event service company in the Nordic countries, Lapland Safaris Group Oy, and Lapland Ski Resorts. The Northern nature and its stories are visible in everything we do.

STAFF

During the financial year 2021–2022, we concentrated on developing immediate supervisor work and management. The management is worth investing in. It has a great impact on our employee satisfaction, which has remained at a good level despite the challenges caused by COVID-19.

We increased the market share of our hotels and made significant investments. The popularity of Staycation holidays increased the demand for our city hotels. Both our Lapland Hotels chain and our staff won several awards during the year.

Our financial year was better than anticipated, even though our employees had to flex in the middle of several unexpected changes. After a long period of silence, we restarted several of our activities and the number of visitors started to increase.

LAPLAND SKI RESORTS

We reached a new record in the turnover of ski resorts. Both old and new enthusiasts found winter sports – and international tourists returned to Lapland. COVID-19 brought its own challenges to the year.

The EcoCompass certificate, which was granted to our entire tourism operations, is a demonstration of comprehensive development of and commitment to environmental responsibility. We also take care of our staff, customers and our entire operating area in a responsible manner.
