Lapland Hotels Arena opened on Monday

Press release | Mon Dec 20 09:06:00 2021

Lapland Hotels Arena, which opened on Monday, has already attracted a lot of international interest – the experiential hotel increases the appeal of Tampere as a whole
The first arena hotel in Finland, Lapland Hotels Arena, opened on Monday 13 December, and on Wednesday 15 December the Nokia Arena itself celebrates its official opening in Tampere. The hotel on the 4th–12th floor of Nokia Arena is the 19th hotel in the Lapland Hotels chain in Finland and the second one in Tampere. According to Ari Vuorentausta, CEO, the new hotel has already attracted a lot of interest from international tourists, and it also meets customers' wishes for a truly experiential hotel.

Speaking at the Lapland Hotels Arena media event on Wednesday 15 December, Lapland Hotels’ owner Pertti Yliniemi says that the Lapland Hotels chain decided to join the hotel project because it was an opportunity they simply could not pass up.

“The location close to a large multi-purpose arena was attractive.” Lapland Hotels Arena is at the heart of all events, and Tampere is a constantly growing tourist city. It’s in our DNA to provide experiences to customers also in northern locations, so the concept of the new hotel fits in quite well, says Yliniemi.

The unique entity also raises interest abroad

The new hotel is the largest in the Lapland Hotels chain and employs approximately 70 permanent employees. During major events, the number of staff will increase to almost 100. According to Ari Vuorentausta, CEO, the most significant economic impact of the hotel is measured in the number of international tourists coming to Tampere.
“As a unique event hotel, the hotel is also of interest to international customers and conference guests. It will certainly increase the number of foreign tourists in Tampere, and at the same time, it will increase the appeal of the whole city,” says Vuorentausta.

The 273 rooms of Lapland Hotels Arena, restaurant Saivo, Lumoamo meeting rooms and the Laawu Rooftop Terrace & Sauna exude the atmosphere of Lapland in a stylish way.

“The services of our hotel are designed for those looking for new experiences, as well as to support events, which is also reflected in the selected service concepts and, among other things, in the style of interior decoration.” However, the spirit of Lapland is strongly present – the hotel is like a peaceful oasis in the middle of the lively arena.

Hotel guests are now thirsty for experiences

Lapland Hotels Arena offers a lot of unique experiences for its guests. These include the Arena View rooms, where you can watch the events of Nokia Arena from the terraces. Similar rooms have never been seen in Finland before, and they are rare elsewhere as well. The Laawu Rooftop Terrace & Sauna on the roof of the hotel also offers a completely new view over the roofs of Tampere.

“At the moment, hotel customers are particularly interested in hotels that offer more than just comfortable beds. In addition to the quality of the setting, people now want experiences while staying in a hotel, and that is exactly what we can give to the guests of Lapland Hotels Arena,” says Vuorentausta, explaining the trends in the hotel industry.
