For us, competent, committed, motivated, goal-oriented and satisfied employees are the key. We invest in good management and operating culture engagement. Compliance with laws and regulations and payment of wages in accordance with collective agreements are the absolute starting point of our HR management.

We ensure that our customers can act responsibly and make responsible choices when using our services. We are a pioneer in customer safety in Lapland. We take care of our customers' safety on snowmobile safaris using the Mapitare GPS system developed in cooperation with the rescue authorities, and our guides have completed the Rescue Guide training. In slope services, our employees who undergo annual safety training are responsible for the safety of our customers, and we constantly improve slope and snow safety.

The Ecocompass Certificate requires concrete actions

In May 2022, a EcoCompass certificate was granted to our entire tourism operations. It is a demonstration of comprehensive development of and commitment to environmental responsibility. Obtaining the certificate requires committing to saving natural resources and increasing positive environmental impacts, and closely monitoring and reporting on them annually. The certificate is granted for three years at a time. EcoCompass is a non-industry-specific environmental management system based on the international ISO 14001 standard. The system is owned by the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation, the largest and most influential environmental NGO in Finland.

The EcoCompass certificate involves many concrete actions. For example, all of the Lapland Hotels & Safaris group’s locations switched to using 100% green electricity already two years ago.

Sustainable Travel Finland label for Lapland Hotels Bulevardi, Oulu and Snowvillage

We are constantly developing our corporate responsibility and actively seek new ways to improve sustainable operations. During the completed financial year, Lapland Hotels Bulevardi, Lapland Hotels Oulu and Lapland Hotels SnowVillage received the right to use the Sustainable Travel Finland label. It is a trademark granted by Visit Finland, which is awarded to companies in the tourism industry which operate in accordance with sustainable development as a company and at the regional level. Companies and organisations that have received the label are committed to respecting and nurturing Finnish nature, lifestyle and culture.
