1. SNOWMOBILE SAFARI TO THE FELLS

(14:00-16:00) Every day, (except Sunday)

During this brisk safari, you will drive around the area of Saariselkä to see all the beautiful fell scenery. You will also enjoy a coffee break by the open fire in the nature.

2. ARCTIC SPEED

(12:00-15:00) Wednesday, Friday

If you like huskies and snowmobiles, this safari is for you! This snowmobile safari will take you to the husky farm. At the farm, you will meet the husky dogs and have a short husky ride on sledges pulled by huskies. After the ride, you'll have a coffee break in a kota and hear more about the life at the farm. Then you will drive back to Saariselkä.

3. CROSS COUNTRY SKIING

(13:00-15:00) Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

There is no better way to get acquainted with winter in Lapland than using the ancient method of the first settlers in Lapland. Fasten the skis to your skiing shoes, lean on the sticks and glide along the tracks through the pure whiteness. A stop is made to have a cup of hot berry juice. The price includes equipment rental until 17:00, so you can go skiing on your own afterwards.

4. ICE FISHING AND SNOWMOBILING

(9:00-13:00) Tuesday, Friday

The trail on this snowmobile safari takes you north of Saariselkä to a remote lake. Bore a hole through the ice and try fishing skills on ice! The catch may even include the jewel of Lapland's crystal waters, the Arctic char. You will enjoy a snack by a campfire and have the opportunity to fry the fish you just caught.

5. VISIT TO THE REINDEER FARM BY SNOWMOBILE

(13:00-16:00) Thursday

Visit a local reindeer farm by snowmobile. At the farm, the Sámi host will welcome you and introduce you to the indigenous culture and reindeer economy of Lapland. During the visit, you will learn how to throw the Lappish lasso and drive the reindeer. Before returning, you will have a coffee break and learn more about Lappish culture and reindeer.

6. SNOWSHOE TRIP TO THE NATURE

(10:00-12:00) Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Go wandering in the fells. On the way, you will walk both on marked tracks and in the deep snow. You might find some tracks of rabbits, foxes, snow grouses and squirrels if you are lucky! We'll take a break for photos and hot berry juice on the way.

7. SEARCH OF THE NORTHERN LIGHTS

(18:00-22:00) Visit on Igloo site Monday, Thursday, Saturday

Come and experience an exotic Arctic evening by driving through snow-covered forests and over treeless fells. With a little luck, if the sky is clear, the moon, stars and even the Northern Lights may show you the way. Safari is heading to the Igloo site, where you have possibility to roam around the forest nearby the igloos, and watch the Northern Lights -show inside the igloo. During the trip your guide will build an open fire and you can enjoy a snack by the flames.

8. IN THE HEART OF NATURE

(9:00-15:00/16:00) Wednesday

Enjoy the great outdoors on this wilderness snowmobile safari to the heart of nature. The trail traverses rugged fells and narrow valleys before coming to the first stop, where you have the chance to try ice fishing and snowshoe walking. You’ll then continue onwards through the forest – perhaps coming across a herd of reindeer searching for their favourite food, moss and lichen, buried under as much as one metre of snow. Keep your eyes out for other forest animals searching for food! The weather in Lapland can change quickly – ranging from cold, blizzard conditions to sunshine over crisp and clean snow – the snowmobile trail we will follow may change accordingly. A delicious Lappish style lunch will be served during the day. (we recommend this safari only for adults)

9. REINDEER SAFARI (10:00-12:00) Monday

In olden times, the only means of winter transportation for the people of Lapland was on sleighs pulled by reindeer. Often, there could be as many as 25 - 30 reindeer in a long raito caravan. You will experience this traditional, peaceful way of moving through snowscapes where the only sound you'll hear is the light ringing of reindeer bells. Coffee will be served. Transfer back from and to the hotel by minibus.

10. HUSKY SAFARI

The barking of enthusiastic dogs will welcome you to the safari at the departure point. Before departing on your journey, you will be given instruction on how to control the sleds, which you will ride in pairs. Passengers may swap places at the halfway point. The head musher will talk about the life and training of these Arctic animals and you’ll also have the chance to take some great photos. The departure point may change according to weather conditions. Coffee will be served by a campfire.

CHILDREN:

Children (4-14-year-olds) receive a 25% discount during the period 1 December 2012 – 6 January 2013 and a 50% discount at other times. This discount entitles children to a seat in a sled pulled by a snowmobile driven by the guide. Children over 140 cm in height are allowed to sit on the snowmobile when paying the adult price. Please note that different terms and prices apply to husky safaris.

SAFARI PRICES INCLUDE:

All snowmobile safaris include thermal outfit, guide services in English, each snowmobile shared by two guests taking turns in driving, fuel, traffic insurance (maximum personal liability €980), maintenance and VAT. GENERAL TERMS:

Snowmobile safaris are subject to change due to weather conditions. As a responsible safari organiser, Lapland Safaris North Ltd reserves the right to change the routing, pricing and the duration of the excursions without prior notice.

Lapland Safaris North Ltd reserves the right to interrupt a safari if a participant is seen as a potential danger to him/herself or to others or is in poor health. Prepaid safaris will not be refunded.

The driver of the snowmobile is held liable for damages caused to the vehicle. Maximum personal liability € 980 per person/snowmobile/accident case.

Pregnant women should not use snowmobiles or sledges pulled by snowmobiles as the vibrations and exhaust fumes may be harmful

If the programme requires special arrangements (e.g. additional transport), the extra costs will not be covered by Lapland Safaris North Ltd.
