The best way to get to the heart of nature – and back. During this fun safari, you’ll learn how to snowmobile along frozen rivers and through forests covered with snow. Enjoy the beautiful views of the river valley from the hilltops. A break with hot beverages will keep your motor running.

2. DISCOVER THE AMETHYST (11:30-13:30) Mon, Wed
Find your lucky stone! Short transfer by snowmobile drawn sleigh to amethyst mine. Visitors are invited in the wooden houses, covered with snow outside but warm inside! Here you will learn about this purple variation of quartz which was formed about 2000 million years ago, deep inside the ancient mountain. While shipping warm beverages, guide will lead you to the fascinating world of amethyst.

3. LEGEND OF FOUR WINDS (10:00-13:00) Wed, Sat
A snowmobile safari to a reindeer farm. First you will learn about our Lappish culture and reindeer husbandry. Everyone who passes a reindeer-driving test will be issued an international reindeer driver's license. Enjoy a cup of hot coffee or berry juice before returning back to town.

If you like huskies and snowmobiles, this safari is for you! After a brisk snowmobile ride, you’ll come to the husky dog farm where the dogs will welcome you with friendly barking. Experience a thrilling 4 km ride in a sled pulled by a team of huskies. Hot beverages are served around a campfire on the farm.

Ice fishing safari to a wilderness. Head to wilderness on a snowmobile trail through snowy forests up into the hills, where you can admire the beautiful surrounding countryside of Lapland. Follow the trail through white, snow-covered fields to arrive at suitable ice fishing spot. The silence will envelop you as you prepare to go fishing. Try your hand at traditional ice fishing and enjoy a cup of coffee over a campfire. Afterwards, return to town for a well-earned rest.

Memorable reindeer sleigh ride. Transportation by car to a reindeer farm to try reindeer sleighing. This traditional way of travelling through snowy forests is a unique experience. Enjoy a hot cup of coffee with a bun around a campfire and learn about the life of reindeer herders.

9. HUSKY SAFARI 10km (15:30-18:00) Tue, Thu, Sat
Wintertime safari with husky teams. After a short transfer by car, we’ll arrive at a husky ranch, where these friendly dogs will bark an enthusiastic welcome to you. Before departing on the safari, you will be given instruction on how to control the sleds, which you will ride in pairs. Enjoy some hot berry juice by an open fire and chat with the head musher about these amazing northern animals once you return to the ranch.

10. AMETHYST MINE ADVENTURE

Transfer from the hotel to Ukko-Luosto, where we take all terrain vehicles to the mine located on the summit of the Lampivaara Hill, Europe's only functioning amethyst mine. We will hear the tales behind the amethyst, savour hot berry juice, as well as search for our own lucky gemstone from the mine.

11. NORTHERN LIGHTS TRAIL EXPERIENCE WITH INTRODUCTION TO THE NORTHERN LIGHTS
(17:00-17:45 continues 22:00-24:00) Mon
The picture and video show by a local skilled Northern Lights guide will lead you through ancient beliefs and myths to the latest scientific truth. You will also be able to listen to real radio signals from the space, at the same time as you enjoy the Nature's most magnificent light show.
Later in the evening meet our guide at the reception. Our guide tells as the local Aurora forecast and introduces the Northern lights trail. We walk the Northern light trail to a nearby small lake called Ahvenlampi. We look for best places to watch and take photos from Aurora (camera tripods available). We have warm drinks by open fire in an open lapp tent.

14. KICK SLEIGH SIGHTSEEING WITH KOTA STOP

The 3 slope areas have 7 slopes providing exciting skiing moments for those who enjoy skiing. The general profile of the slopes is suitable for family travellers and friends of relaxed downhill skiing, but the Sun slope also offers demanding challenges to the more active skier. Luosto also boasts off-piste skiing and street.

16. KUUSIRANTA TRADITIONAL FINNISH SAUNA AND ICE SWIMMING. (14:30-17:30) Wed
Our traditional Finnish sauna is heated suitably, not too hot. Water is thrown on the hot stones to get nice humid warmth ("löyly" in Finnish). After warm steam you can take a refreshing dip in icy water. Swimming in icy water is good for blood circulation. We warmly recommend it!

Children (4-14-year-olds) receive a 25% discount during the period of 1st December 2012 – 2 January 2013 and a 50% discount at other times unless otherwise stated in the prices. Children over 140 cm in height are allowed to sit on the snowmobile when paying the adult price.
SAFARI PRICES INCLUDE:
All snowmobile safaris include thermal outfit, guide services in English, each snowmobile shared by two guests taking turns in driving, fuel, traffic insurance (maximum personal liability €980), maintenance and VAT. The driver of a snowmobile has to be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s licence. Solo driving possibility, cost varies depending on the safari, between

Snowmobile safaris are subject to change due to weather conditions. As a responsible safari organiser, Lapland Safaris CE Ltd reserves the right to change the routing, pricing and the duration of the excursions without prior notice.
Lapland Safaris CE Ltd reserves the right to interrupt a safari if a participant is seen as a potential danger to him/herself or to others or is in poor health. Prepaid safaris will not be refunded.
The driver of the snowmobile is held liable for damages caused to the vehicle. The maximum personal liability is € 980 per person/snowmobile/accident case.
Pregnant women should not use snowmobiles or sledges pulled by snowmobiles as the vibrations and exhaust fumes may be harmful. If the programme requires special arrangements (e.g. additional transport), the extra costs will not be covered by Lapland Safaris CE Ltd
