Hotel Luostotunturi joins Lapland Hotels to reinforce the hotel chain - Lapland’s largest hotel chain is growing according to its expectations

Lapland Hotels continues to grow as Hotel Luostotunturi, built in 2000, joins the chain as a result of a stock purchase. After this purchase the Lapland Hotels chain consists of 11 hotels and approximately 1,300 rooms and apartments in different parts of Lapland.

We are expanding our business according to our growth strategy despite the demanding times. The current economic situation, and the sales hiccup it has caused, is only a temporary constraint in the strong and growing trend of tourism in Lapland. Now is the right moment to reinforce the chain’s business conditions while keeping an eye on future growth,” says Pertti Yliniemi, Managing Director of Lapland Hotels.

Hotel Luostotunturi has been run in an excellent manner at an interesting holiday resort. That is why the decision to become a partner was an easy one," Yliniemi explains.

Hotel Luostotunturi has been the engine of tourism in the Luosto area silver pine cabin village, and it has been an important Lapland-scale international business already as a small family business. Almost half of the hotel’s customers have come from foreign countries. In the newly built Hotel Luostotunturi there are 115 hotel rooms and apartments, three restaurants, nightclub, auditorium, conference rooms and an Amethyst Spa with spa treatments.

Luosto has remained in the shadow of the slightly larger resorts. Nowadays, the owners want to change that with the support from the chain.

Luosto, located near the Pyhä-Luosto national park, is an idyllic and unique fell centre with an amethyst mine and a silver pine cabin village. Resorts of this type are targets of more and more call and demand in the international market. We believe that Luosto is also a welcome new resort for our existing domestic and regular customers,” states Pertti Yliniemi, Managing Director of Lapland Hotels Oy.

Juha-Pekka Tuominen continues as the Managing Director of Hotel Luostotunturi.

As the biggest service provider for tourism in the Lapland region, Lapland Hotels makes it possible for the resort to develop and grow further. The chain has the required sales and marketing resources to achieve this,” Tuominen assures.

After this purchase Lapland Hotels owns 33% of the Hotel Luostotunturi. Other partners are Matkailunkehitys Nordia Oy as well as the original owners of the company Kirsti Ryytty-Tuominen and Juha-Pekka Tuominen. Chairman of the company’s board is Pertti Yliniemi.
