'No sweat' for ski trekkers
Ski trekking in the fell landscapes is an experience that draws thousands to the fells every winter - some to admire the scenery, others competitive skiers or those out to improve their condition. Lapland hosts countless traditional skiing events which bring the joy of taking part to everyone.
The Lapponia Skiing Week includes three days
of skiing in the landscapes of Olos, Pallas and Hetta: on Monday the
route is Keimiö-Kiikerö 60 km, Wednesday the Himmelriikki 50 km route
and on Friday the 80 km Karra-Huikonen 80 km route or the Half Huikonen
at 40 km. Pick Lapland Hotels Olos and its services as your base!
Vaskoolihiihto Ski is Saariselkkä's biggest
springtime event, drawing nearly 1,000 participants. Pace and style
are up to you with routes of 20, 40 and 60 km in the landscapes around
Vellinsärpimä, Luulampi, Kiilopää, Ahopää and Laanila. Why not let
Lapland Hotels Riekonlinna handle your accommodation and nutrition?
The Napapiirin Hiihto (Arctic Circle skiing)
event at the Ounasvaara skiing stadium enjoys a half century of hosting
skiing events. You can choose 20, 40 or 60 km routes and there's even
an 8 km family route which, of course, also includes some enjoyable
activities along the route. The event has even witnessed Father
Christmas himself as the official starter! The local hotel of choice
for Napapiirin Hiihto is, of course, Lapland Hotels Sky Ounasvaara.
